A to Z 2015 : SPLENDOR

A to Z 2015 : SPLENDOR

Our next entry is not only a favorite of the playgroup I attend once or twice a week, but also the Ladyfolk. So much so that she gets fairly irritated if I ever forget to bring it (which is often...) to our own Game Nights with friends and family. To be fair, I could be reminded...

Anyhow, all we're ever trying to do is live a life full of...

A to Z 2015 : THE RESISTANCE

A to Z 2015 : THE RESISTANCE

It's time for another party game! This one is compared a lot to Mafia and Werewolf, both of which I haven't played, though I've played and highlighted the lighter version of WerewolfOne Night Ultimate Werewolf. Actually, this game is getting a "One Night" installment as well. It's currently on Kickstarter.

So it's time to find out if you are an Imperial Spy or a member of...

A to Z 2015 : QUESTILLO

A to Z 2015 : QUESTILLO

This next entry is a game that the Ladyfolk had at her parent's house, hidden in the basement, just waiting to be discovered in time to rescue me from my lack of a "Q" game! Actually, she knew it was there, or at least hoped it was still there. It's a game I hadn't even heard of before then, which I thought was perfect.

In a cross between Trivia and Scrabble, we take a peek at...

This may have been because almost everyone in the playgroup was learning the game, but I suspect not. The rules are nowhere near complicated, but I think the way the game plays can cause for lengthy sessions.

Grab your saws and hammers and let's take a look at the Kickstarter game that focuses on building yourself a handy dandy...

A to Z 2015 : ONE NIGHT ULTIMATE WEREWOLF

A to Z 2015 : ONE NIGHT ULTIMATE WEREWOLF

Tonight I'm going to highlight a game that I just recently played and is a bit different than the rest I've featured thus far. It has elements such as hidden roles, bluffing, and deduction, much like Avalon, Resistance, Spyfall, and others of similar design. In fact, the original version of this game may be what inspired those I listed. This version, however, has been condensed and runs roughly 10-15 min.

It's a great Filler/Gateway/Party game, though maybe best for players who can handle the bluffing pressures involved. Either way, it's time to see if we can survive...
