I remember the drive being dark and stormy
My mother's mind full of unsound delusions
Whispering out loud how we'd never be free
Swearing in time she'd find the solutions
Never let anyone know the real me
Tell not a soul of what I could do
A loving parent's final decree
Simple life lessons, tried and true
Losing control, hitting a tree
Thrown aside while sweet mother burned
No one around, no one to see
Alone in the night, promising lessons learned
