A to Z 2017: JEM

I first became acquainted with Jem after seeing a trailer for Milla Jovovich's movie, Ultraviolet. I remember being so psyched about that movie; it was filmed by the same director of Equilibrium. However, after seeing it I was really disappointed. There is no official video for "24" (off of Jem's debut album, Finally Woken), but a fan made one using footage from the film. It's semi-full of spoilers, so if interested in seeing the movie you may want to skip past it. I don't think you'll be missing out on much, though:

It appears that not only has Jem's work been featured in a multitude of movies, TV shows, and advertisements, but many of them are ones that also highlight Imogen Heap's music too, like Grey's Anatomy and The O.C.. In fact, ironically enough, while Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek" appeared on The O.C.'s second season finale, Jem's cover of "Maybe I'm Amazed" was used in the show's first season finale:

After the commercial success of Finally Woken, Jem's second album, Down to Earth, released in 2008.

I think I'm a lot less familiar with this album, but a handful of the tracks were, again, used in various movies, advertisements, etc, so you may recognize this first single, "It's Amazing":

Okay, I like the song, but I'm not a big fan of that music video. I mean, I feel like I just slammed an entire liter of vodka before watching it! What gives? And I've featured some shaky-cut videos earlier in this challenge.

After multiple delays, Jem's most recent album just launched last summer. I'm going to try to check it out soon, but for now I'll just share the first single, "Beachwood Canyon", from the album of the same name:

That was obviously a fan made video with translated lyrics galore! I really like that single, though, so I'm looking forward to hearing more!

Did you enjoy the songs/videos? Are you familiar with Jem? Do you have a favorite song and/or album? Have you ever seen her live? If so, how was the performance? Have you heard any of her music on TV shows, movies, and/or advertisements? Did you ever see Ultraviolet? If so, what did you think of it?
