A to Z 2017: OLIVE GARDEN

A to Z 2017: OLIVE GARDEN

This year for the A to Z Challenge 2017 I'm trying something completely different... vlogging! That's right, I'll be putting myself out there on YouTube, talking about who knows what for who knows how long! Come join in the conversation as I talk about a variety of topics throughout April.

Let the rambling begin!

A to Z 2016 : OVERWATCH

A to Z 2016 : OVERWATCH

Welcome to the 2016 A to Z Challenge on I, Jak! This year's theme is 2016 Highlights, where I will be blogging about things I have been looking forward to this year, whether people, places, or things. Some have already occurred, some are currently happening, and others are yet on the way.

Some topics may be a bit generic (occurring annually), while others will be specific to 2016, so come take a look!

We are just past the halfway mark for the 2014 A to Z Challenge and I, for one, am beginning to feel the burn. I started off strong, with posts being drafted up and scheduled a day early. I was energized and found some new blogs and hopped to familiar ones (though, maybe not as often during this challenge). The further we got into the event, the more difficult it became to keep up.

Posts were scrambled together at the last moment, being posted just before the Midnight mark (an old school tactic of mine). Then “cheat” posts (J, M, and N), where I’d post “coming soon” to by me some time to write the body of the post while maintaining the post date on the correct day, became commonplace. Tricky tricky, I know. This comes at the cost of most readers/visitors just passing over it and not checking back, which isn’t such a big deal considering I’m not even sharing and/or promoting via social media. Just stating the side-effects of my lazy-induced antics. It’s not so much I’m lazy even, it’s that I’m just getting tired.

Blog hopping levels are dwindling. I want to participate more, but I feel out of it. Especially today. I just feel so tired and coffee apparently isn’t helping. Hopefully, this weekend will be a lot more productive, although Easter is bound to make it difficult.

I think I’m just going to go lay down for a bit… rest my eyes a few moments…

For those participating in the 2014 A to Z Challenge, how are you holding up? How has blog hopping been going? If any, with this challenge or blogging in general, what are some of the hardest aspects you find yourself faced with? What drives you to continue despite these obstacles?

Olive Branch

From the past you come forth with the offerings of peace.
Let bygones be bygones, we can be friends at the least.
Did I think it was impossible after all of the years
Through the hardships, fears, and waterfall tears.
It may be hard knowing that I’m still so far
But let’s not forget why we are where we are
Choices were made, consequences will be met
Giving things time would be your best bet

There’s no need for rhymes for our story is no fairytale
Nor a children’s book or love song
But the love is still there as it will always be
The place in our hearts where the others still beats
Regardless of time and the pain interlacing
Connections remain true, forever both a curse and a blessing

At this time we both know boundaries have been broken
While respect should be met at the cost of one’s good intentions
Self love is the key to everyone’s salvation
Seclusion a trick of our mind’s disillusion
Train always your heart, body, and soul
In the end you’ll be free and once again find yourself whole
